| You've got one claim to fame - Sir Bobby Charlton worked there in his first year as an apprentice at Manchester United. His foreman was a chap called Bert Jones. See pages 54-55 of Sir Bobby's new Biography "My Manchester United Days".

| My Grandad, James (Jim) Hines worked here for most of his working life, he also worked with Bobby Charlton. I thought it was based in Trafford Park. I have a photo of him at his machine, I will upload it. |

| Hi there, my mum worked in the Wages Dept. pre1967. I am trying to track down one of her bridesmaids, who also worked at Switchgear & Cowans. Her name is Susan and she married a policeman, Mick "Topper" Brown. Her aunty had the "Transport House" on the corner of Chester Road near to the Trafford Hotel. My mum&dad's wedding was at St.Hilda's Church, Old Trafford at 3pm on 15th October 1966. The reception was at the Woodcourt Hotel, Timperley. If any one can provide information about any of these events I would be most grateful. Many Thanks. Gary |
