Interested In The Period From 1940 To 1960.
My sisters and I were in the Orphanage from 1942-1945. I left in 1943 as I gained a scholarship and went to Notre Dame High School. Some of the girls I remember were: Rose Rofofski, Mary Kilgallon, Rita Brodie. The nuns were:Sister Presentation, Sister Anthony, Sister Ignatius and the teacher at the attatched school was Sister Tarsicius (not very good at spelling the names!) Although the girls had to have their hair cut short (as my sisters did) I kept mine long as my mother complained before the nuns had time to cut it. I would like to hear from anyone who was in the orphanage, and when did it close? What happened to the girls? Were they sent to Australia or Canada?
