The Merry Hill Shopping Centre is in the Black Country town of Brieley Hill , West Midlands, England. Opened in 1985 is was originally owned by the Richardson Brothers. Since its original construction its ownership has changed hands a number of times. Its current owned by the Australian company Westfield.
Next to the shopping centre is thhe Waterfront, which is an leasure area consisting of a number of restaurants and bars and an office complex that is based around the Dudley Canal No1, which used to service the old Round Oak Steel Works, which is now the Merry Hill Shopping Centre. The canal runs from Tipton towards the Stourbridge Canal, travelling under the town of Dudley and Dudley Castle via the Dudley tunnel, then on to Merry Hill and down through a flight of locks, known rather traditionally as the Delph Nine Locks ( there are actually now only eight locks, following a new fligh being constructed in the 1850s).
